Yes, we’re in the midst of a 90-degrees-plus (Fahrenheit) heat wave, and I’m blogging about winter. No, it doesn’t keep me particularly cool. In fact, my first reaction to seeing Cooking Up a Story’s video on starting a winter garden is to resist, run, hide my head under a pillow. I have enough work to do on the current garden!

But of course they’re absolutely right. If I want fresh veggies in fall and maybe winter (I’m not too sure about this winter business), I have to start the seeds early.

And I never did plant broccoli this year, so maybe that would be a good thing to try. Hmmmm….
