oh I definitely drive less because of my neighborhood. It's very walkable and of course bike-able. I mean, there are hills but small ones. And everything is close, really. The difficulty is getting to places like sellwood or NE or East Moreland (where my inlaws live). There are routes, but not ones that my 7 yr old can bike, yet. So then I have to tote the two or just hop in the car if I don't have an hour to get there.

5 days! You've got me beat already. Do you think you automatically drive less because of your neighborhood?

Cool! I hadn't thought about that -- biking vs. delivery.

We're finding that biking to the grocery store is fun and changes what we buy for the better, vs getting deliveries. No car so those are our options.

Yay for making the concerted effort! I find it pretty silly to go to the store by car anymore, even with 2 kids in tow. I think the parking lots around here are purposely car-unfriendly, though. I had to think long and hard and I believe the last time I used my car was Thursday to get the kids to swimming lessons @ sellwood pool in the evening. Tomorrow I bike to Gresham for work. Wednesday afternoon I will drive to Gresham for work again, so I guess that's 5 car-free days, right? I don't know if I could go all the way, though. Gresham is FAR LOL.
