Sick Day
I’m sick. Blech. So what’s a TechnoEarthMama to do?
Well, I did spend a good deal of time with the laptop. There’s your tech.
I kept a kid home with me today. And the other two had a half day of school. So Mama was still at least partly on the job.
And I drank Good Earth tea! There we go. TechnoEarthMama.
Seriously, I think Good Earth tea is an excellent choice for a cold. Rose Hips for vitamin C, cinnamon and ginger to warm the tummy, and good old chamomile. I try to stay away from cold medicine during the day, so the tea really helps.
I haven’t used it today, but sometimes I make myself garlic tea for colds, too. It’s supposed to boost the immune system and have anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. (And, yo, I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice. Check with your own doctor before trying home remedies).
Mostly, I’m just getting plenty of rest and fluids and hoping to be back at the business of life tomorrow.

Hot lemonade!
I’ve also pondered mixing up my three favorite home remedy drinks… hot lemonade, garlic broth, and hot chile tea… into some kind of soup or tea. I mean, on one level, YUCK, right? But on another level… garlic, lemon, and chiles… that’s the flavor of several nice dishes the world over. It makes a good spaghetti, for instance, especially with broccoli. So maybe a soup, too.

I would eat that as a soup. With noodles and broccoli. I’m afraid I don’t have any chiles, though.
