Bicycle Commuting Mama: Still Dry, Despite Wet Weather Biking
Posted on November 05th, 2008 in Cycling, Sustainability
Today, I just escaped putting on rain gear. Both morning and evening, it was just barely sprinkling — the kind of weather in which no Portlander would be caught dead with an open umbrella! I rode my entire route thinking “don’t rain, don’t rain” and managed to make it both times.
It’s nearly dark at 5:00 now, and my lights are working just fine. I’m also grateful to all of the excellent drivers who have been watching out for me, slowing down as they pass me, stopping to let me make a left turn, etc. If I knew your names, I’d thank you personally!
I am pretty worn out right now, though, and I’m sure the cycling is a part of that. Adieu!
