No matter what a blog is about, there are reasons to discuss politics. Politics have to do with everything because politics are everything. The food we eat, the water we drink, the roads or buses or trains we're allowed to ride on, the cities we can visit, the countries we can go to or not go to, our reputations as citizens of the United States, all of these things are immediately and directly affected by politics.

So I can't blame you one bit. I'm also of the mind, that if readers are alienated then so be it. You have a mind and you use it, to agree or disagree with others, and in America you should expect to do so all the time. It's just a matter of staying civil and if that alienates, then it should be water under the bridge.

((Kathleen)), thanks for your kind comment on my post.

There's nothing wrong with stating your case, and I'm sure you'll do it kindly.
It would do us all well to remember that emotions are running high this election season, and we all need to be a little thicker skinned.

I know how you feel. I think that as long as you state your case rationally you are okay. No mud slinging. No poking fun of how someone feels. I know you wouldn't do that. I think that if you are just yourself, you'll do fine. You have every right to post what you want and what you feel about any issue, including politics. I know you wouldn't do it in a way that would be offensive to others.
