Portland Tech Scene: Beer and Blog
This is my first time at Beer and Blog, held every Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the PDX Green Dragon Brewpub and Bistro. So many Tweeples in one place, in the flesh! It’s a bit overwhelming (and I happen to be shy, too).
Green Dragon is located at SE 9th and Belmont, and part of it is a Quonset hut, of all things. Lots of brew and yummy smelling food (although I’m just having a coke). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (I gather that Beer and Blog has been held outside previously, but it’s getting coldish now).
Beer and Blog is sometimes just a neighborly work session, and sometimes there is a speaker on a certain topic. Today’s presentation was by Bram Pitoyo, on using fonts/typefaces to make your blog more readable. Do you know the difference between a font and a typeface? I do, now!
UPDATE: You can now view Bram Pitoyo’s slide show, “How to Make Your Blog Read Better” online.

I’ll have to keep an eye out for these. I’m blogging from a motel at the moment. I’d rather be having a beer and blogging!
