Okay, I joined this site called Twittermoms, because I saw a link on this TwitPic of cocktails being served on the east end of the Steel Bridge (in Portland), which was tweeted by @dieselboi.  I don’t know if that link is an ad, or what — I’m not that familiar with TwitPic.

Anyway, I clicked the link and went over to Twittermoms, which is a social networking site for moms who Twitter.  Techcrunch actually just published an article about the site, saying that this is an example of why Twitter needs groups to bring like-minded Tweeple together.

Despite joining Twittermoms (I’m a networking junkie), I don’t think Twitter needs groups.  I think it’s fine just the way it is — people who want to find each other do find each other.  I’m also OK with mixing with different types of people at the same time.  Some people I follow, or who follow me, are writers, some are techies, some are local, some are across the country, or even in other countries.  I like the interconnectedness.  I like finding new people to follow through all of the different people I follow.  I don’t think all of this needs to be separated into groups.

Do you tweet?  What do you think about Twitter and groups?  Would you join a Twitter-related network like Twittermoms?
